Athlete Profile
Yonta Vaughn
Basketball - Guard
My dream is to own my own construction company one day. I love looking at houses ???? and want to build beautiful homes that everyone can enjoy, especially families with lower incomes. Growing up with a single mom, I saw how hard it can be, and I want to help people like my mom have homes they can be proud of.
To me, being selfless means giving to others. On the court, it’s about helping my teammates be in the right spots and making sure they succeed.
Off the court, it’s about being kind, spreading positivity, and sharing what I know with others. I believe in God and try to live in a way that reflects His love by helping and encouraging others.
Basketball has taught me a lot about life. It’s shown me how to handle tough times, manage my time well, and stay calm under pressure.
I’ve had challenges, like dealing with Raynaud’s and myositis, but I’ve learned to push through and keep going. My faith is really important to me, and I rely on God to help me through everything.
When people think of me, I hope they remember how hard I work, how positive I am, and how much I love life!
Basketball isn’t just a sport to me—it’s helped me grow as a person and prepared me for the business world. I see a lot of connections between basketball and business, like working hard, solving problems, and reaching goals.
I’m excited to be part of Character First Athletics because it’s about more than just playing sports. It’s about growing as a person, building strong relationships, and making a positive difference in the lives of others.
