Jahmeer Carter, Defensive Tackle for UVA, Joins Character First Athletics

Our newest athlete, Jahmeer Carter, is no exception.
As the defensive tackle at the University of Virginia, Jahmeer Carter has taken the world of college football by storm and was recognized as one of the top three defensive impact players for 2024.
He’s also a prime example of an athlete whose reputation precedes him due to his character, dedication, and ability to foster team chemistry.
“When I met him, I was struck by his thoughtfulness—not just about his current stage of life, but also his aspirations beyond football. He has a clear and deliberate plan for his future,” says Character First Athletics founder Jonathan Cotten.
Jahmeer also has a very close and loving relationship with his wife, Alison, which he speaks about with pride. While marriage isn’t always a reflection of character, Jahmeer’s joy and commitment to the relationship speaks volumes about his grounded nature and strong values.
Beyond his marriage and football career, Jahmeer is also passionate about mentoring youth athletes, both on and off the field. This passion led him to start his own business, JC Sports Consulting, which focuses on guiding and supporting the next generation of athletes.
We are thrilled to welcome Jahmeer to Character First Athletics for his final year at UVA. We look forward to supporting him as he pursues his vision of reaching the NFL, with plans to follow that up with a career in wealth management.
